From start to finish, each creation takes approximately one week to complete. No molds are ever used, each piece is hand-sculpted. Once dry, imperfections are sanded and smoothed. Each piece is carefully painted with acrylic paint and sealed with matt varnish for protection. Embroidery ribbon is used to attach arms and legs allowing for movement. Costumes are handmade using a variety of both vintage and new fabric, ribbons, and other small embellishments. Hair is styled with natural fibers such as alpaca, fleece, or wool and is needle felted into place. Finishing touches include paper flowers, tiny knitted scarves and other doodads I find.
